In this video, you’ll learn a super easy method to cover any shoe, boots, or any other object,  with latex—so you can create the perfect match every time. And the best part? You don't need to draw patterns or have to deal with complicated calculations!

There is no pattern or instructions to download with this video,  because you are going to make the pattern yourself from your own shoe. The step-by-step instructions are in the video.

We assume you’ve watched the basic videos since the basic techniques are not explained in this video. As a result, the pace of this video is faster than that of the basic videos. This video does not have narration but includes background music (which you can, of course, turn off).

Materials

Latex:

Size of the latex depends on your shoes.

Tip! Make the pattern first, then you know how much latex you need.

Latex thickness:

0.40 mm or 0.45 mm

If you choose thinner or thicker it will be more difficult.

Other materials:

  • Thin pattern-drawing paper or tissue paper (2x the size of the shoe all around).
  • Painter's tape/paper tape.
  • Duct tape or packing tape.
  • Glue spray (we are a fan of the Bison and Pattex brand, another brand could also work, but our experience is that, in this case, the more expensive, well-known glue brands work best).
  • Transparent Bison sealant / rapid glue (another contact adhesive is also fine as long as it is transparent).

Tools:

  • Rotary cuttter
  • Sharp scissors or a box cutter.

About the shoes:

Preferably made of sturdy lacquer, so not leather but a solid surface. You will cover these shoes with latex sheet, so the smoother the surface, the better the end result.
